Melissa Shiambis - Podiatrist
Melissa is the principal Podiatrist and founder of Pod Fit Podiatry which she began in June 2015.
Clinical areas of interest:
Joint mobilisation and manipulation, dry needling, foot & ankle rehabilitation
Melissa graduated with a Bachelor Degree of Podiatry in 2010 from the University of South Australia. Throughout her seven years in the profession, she has dedicated time to learning additional treatment techniques beyond the traditional scope of Podiatry. These treatments include joint mobilisation and manipulation, use of a hand held activator tool and dry needling. She also routinely provides custom exercise rehabilitation programs as part of her treatment protocol.
Melissa personally enjoys challenging cases where clients have feel as though they have tried all avenues for their concerns, and have found insignificant changes. Recalcitrant plantar fascitis is a common condition that she treats clinically, and she finds great benefit in what manual therapies offer for her clients! Manual therapy treatments are beneficial for many painful foot conditions.
Melissa enjoys working with clients of all ages from young children to aged care and everywhere in between. In her free time, you'll often find Melissa jogging or at the gym. She enjoys impulsive baking occasions, and spending time with her family and friends.
Joe Keain - Podiatrist
Clinical areas of interest:
Walking and running gait assessments, footwear recommendations & dry needling
Joe graduated with a Bachelor Degree of Podiatry in 2016 from the University of South Australia. Since graduating he has built on his knowledge in the areas of biomechanics and sports, completing dry needling and mobility courses.
Having suffered previous foot and leg pain, Joe can sympathise with those wanting to be pain free and get back to doing what they enjoy. In fact, most of his enjoyment in working as a Podiatrist comes down to being able to keep active people active! He loves assisting his clients in getting them painfree as quickly as possible, and with the right advice to avoid injuries for the long term.
Joe has worked at the Athletes Foot for 4 years while studying where he developed a broad knowledge of athletic and casual footwear. This understanding allows him to assess a clients foot function and determine the best shoe suitable for their needs.
Joe enjoys working with active clients, especially those returning from injury or looking to increase their performance. In his spare time he enjoys playing music, watching the footy and spending time with mates.
