Gait Analysis at Pod Fit Podiatry Adelaide

Gait analysis involves your Podiatrist observing how your body moves with walking and running. We pay attention to not only the way your feet move, but also how your body moves as a whole – it is all connected!
In a single step, we break down your movement into multiple key phases:
- Heel strike
- Midstance
- Propulsion
- Swing
As part of your gait assessment we will look at your walking and running using a 3D pressure scanner or Zebris Plantar Pressure Treadmill. The Zebris Treadmill is at both our Modbury and Findon clinic locations.
Gait assessment allows us to break down walking or running into the individual gait phases, to see where the cause of pain may be coming from. It is important to identify these movement patterns so that we can appropriately treat your pain or injury. If you have any concerns with the way you walk or run it is best to come in and be assessed by the experts!
We assess the quality of movement with each step using slow-motion gait analysis. This allows us to make a thorough and relevant plan ahead!
