Gait Analysis at Pod Fit Podiatry Adelaide

Gait analysis involves observing how the body moves with walking and running. As a Podiatrist we pay attention to not only the way your feet move, but also how your body moves as a whole – it is all connected!
In a single step, we break down your movement into multiple key phases:
- Heel strike
- Midstance
- Propulsion
- Swing
We assess the quality of movement with each step using slow-motion gait analysis. This allows us to break down the movement into individual segments to see where the cause of pain may be coming from. It is important to identify deviations from normal with gait, in order to treat contributing factors, and move more efficiently. Walking and running is also looked in in conjunction with a 3D foot pressure assessment to gain a thorough understanding of your movement and why your pain or injury has occurred.
If you have any concerns with the way you walk or run it is best to come in and be assessed by the experts!
